As a Home Infusion RN you will:
o educate patients on how to administer IV medications in their home at thetime of discharge or when an outpatient order is received.
This is done viaphone or virtual methods, you will never enter a patient's home.
o evaluate each patient for appropriateness of participation in home infusiontherapy while also coordinating any admissions.
o provide advice to patients by phone after business hours to troubleshootany problemso address nursing related questions that may occur for all Home Infusionpatients.

Essential Functions:
Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform the following functions:
o Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the Healthcare consumer's health and/or the situation.
o Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or the issues.
o Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the Healthcare consumer of the situation.
o Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
o Implements the identified plan.
Ensures patient progression along plan.
o Coordination of Care - coordinates care delivery.
o Health Teaching and Health Promotion - employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
o Consultation - the advanced practice registered nurse and the nursing role specialist provide consultation to influence the identified plan, enhance the abilities of others and effect change.
o Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
Follows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):
o Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practiceo Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practiceo Evaluates one's own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulationso Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagueso Collaborates with patient, family and others in the conduct of nursing practiceo Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practiceo Integrates research findings into practiceo Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing serviceso Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the professiono Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy mannero Supports purpose, vision, and values of Monument Health.

o Support and document nursing activities and patient care.

Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
